A long time ago I used to make a treat box with herbs that have a remedial impact on some of our bunny conditions.
I’m restarting them but with veterinary input from Dr Gloria Perkovic of Wellbeing’s, in West Footscray. Wellbeing’s is the Holistic pet care annex to Vetcall West Footscray and is located opposite the clinic.
Dr Gloria Perkovic, BVSc(Hons), CVA (Animal Acupuncture) is passionate about taking a holistic approach to animal welfare & has worked with Carolyn, from the refuge to create a range of specific treatments to work in conjunction with the usual veterinary care.
Dr Gloria’s approach has seen many buns that would normally go on suffering, feeling more active & more mobile, which is indicative of a feeling of better general wellbeing.
None of us wants to see our buns in pain or struggling with horrid diseases like Mega colon.
These mixes have had quite a dramatic effect on the refuges Mega Colon buns & our amputees, all having a better digestive system along with more mobility.
We have been trialling these on several rabbits owned by volunteers & adopters along with some of Dr Glorias clients with amazing results….
These remedial herbs & treats are helpful in many situations & with buns living longer they are developing more health issues that sometimes need some extra help in dealing with.

At the moment, the treats are coming in the same packaging as the raw herbs as we are waiting on the new stickers to arrive.

I sprinkle the raw (dried) herbs onto pellets & the treat I give based of results. My tripod Giant has 2 a day & leaps onto the couch. My 11 year old giant was arthritic & ended ups being able to jump up nightly for cuddles.
